About the area
Bolingbrook’s earliest settlers, many from Vermont, began arriving in the area in 1832 and focused on farming. In 1960, a builder developed the area’s first subdivision and named it Bolingbrook. The Village of Bolingbrook was incorporated in 1965. Today’s Bolingbrook offers abundant options for family and leisure activities, including weekly summer concerts, an annual air show, a performing arts center, an indoor/outdoor aquatic park, golf courses, shopping and dining at Promenade Bolingbrook, and hiking and fishing at Hidden Oaks Nature Center/Hidden Lakes Trout Farm.
